Reflection Week 5 -

The day began with Karakia - connecting with a great group of
educators and then the www session.
Other things discussed throughout the day was as follows:
Connecting with Manaiakalani - pedagogy and kaupapa- Visible
teaching and learning. Today we focussed on Visible. Visible is different from
planning, process, outcomes and assessment.
Next was MultiModal - different ways of communicating with our
learners. Engaging our learners by first engaging ourselves and inspiring them.
Multimodel is the hook for engagement. We also had a look at some of the
multimodal sites.
After that we moved on to creating Google sites. The layout and
contents of the site needs to be planned first. At first we created a new site
from scratch and named it Sandpit Site. Then we had a look at the “Garden with
Science” site and the slides and used the ideas gathered to create a multi
modal site for learners. The site which was created is attached below.
Today I have learnt a lot of things especially creating a multi
modal site which can be used effectively by my students. Having a multimodal
site can assist in promoting my site it will be more appealing to my
learners and they will be more engaged and eager to explore and learn.
