Manaiakalani Digital Fluency Intensive - Week 6 - 03/5/19

Reflection Week 6 - 03/05/19

The day began with Karakia - connecting with a great group of educators and then the www session.

Other things discussed throughout the day was as follows:
Evaluating class sites - a selection of class sites were explored looking at the two criteria of visual appeal and user experience.
Connecting with Manaiakalani - pedagogy and kaupapa- Visible teaching and learning. Today we focussed on Connected. Manaiakalani has a twitter account @clusternz which collects the blog posts of students as tweets as it is connected to the learners in their class.
Next we had explore session in which we looked at all participant’s class or subject site and each person had the opportunity to receive feedback from the group. After that I took out data for responses for my site from the spreadsheet.
Then we were given time to create or update our sites focussing on three things: setting goals for our class or subject site today, three specific things we would like to achieve on our Class Site today (At this Digital Fluency) and whether we were able to achieve our goals for today or not.

Today’s session was very beneficial to me as I got lots of responses regarding my site and I can use the responses to update my site so that it is more user friendly and visible to my students and they are able to access all the resources with ease.

  1. You have learnt so much over the past weeks of the DFI. It was great to see your Site development today, and your use of Hapara Workspace. I hope your students enjoy using it.
